Macmahon are the appointed Coal Mine Operator at Byerwen Mine and have a position available for an experienced HSEQ Superintendent to support the HSEQ Manager.
As the next HSEQ Superintendent your responsibilities and accountabilities will revolve around managing the short to mid-term support with the team to meet both internal and external regulatory requirements.
About the role:
• Provide leadership and direction to the site health, safety and training department team members including, Paramedics and Emergency Response Officers.
• Manage the health, safety and training support services at the mine site
• Proactively manage compliance internally with Macmahons and as the Coal Mine Operator in accordance with the CMSHA and CMSHR.
• Complete weekly and monthly reporting, trend analysis with recommendations for improvement.
• Facilitate risk assessments and document reviews
• Conduct Incident management investigation and reviews
• Oversee planning and allocation of task activities for the team
• Assist in the implementation of a new SHMS information management system
• Oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operations within the HSEC team
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders.
• Conduct weekly Safety Meetings for site company leaders.
About You
• Superintendent experience working the resources industry, preferably with a Coal Mine Operator or Contactor as the CMO.
• Experienced working knowledge of the development and implementation of the sites Safety Health Management System.
• Experience with internal auditing and compliance
• Experienced with internal auditing and compliance
• Experience and strong knowledge of RII and AQF training requirements on a mine site
• Significant exposure to and knowledge of relevant legislation including recognised standards
• Tertiary qualifications in OH&S
• Knowledge of the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and Regulations
• ICAM facilitation experience
