Macmahon is currently seeking an experienced HSEQ & Training Superintendent to join the Macmahon Tropicana team. This position will be on a continuous 4:3 roster, days only, flying from Perth. You will be part of a high energy team so possession of multiple skill sets and licenses/qualifications will be highly regarded as they will greatly enhance your versatility within the role.


The HSEQ & Training Superintendent shall assist and effectively deliver appropriate training, education and HSEQ advice for the project in accordance with the sites HSEQ Management Plan and Training Plan requirements and provide Safety & Training support. The role will ensure the efficient and effective delivery of site training activities and safety requirements to support the achievement of the operational contract deliverables.

Reporting directly to the Project Manager your key duties will include:

  • Lead and manage a small team
  • Monitor and maintain the sites compliance to the Macmahon Integrated Management System and Critical Risk Standards
  • Ensure HSEQ and Training related documentation and reports are completed in accordance with Macmahon’s Integrated Management System and associated procedures
  • Incident investigation 
  • Ensure all training is accurately completed and documentation recorded
  • Develop and present training/safety presentations (including inductions) as required
  • Manage the coordination, development, implementation and revision of the site HSEQ and training systems
  • Budget and resource management

To be considered for a role, you will require:

  • 5 years experience in HSEQ related roles in both surface and underground mining.
  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
  • ICAM and/or Root Cause Analysis training and certification
  • Working knowledge of WHS Acts and Regs and able to interpret legislation
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and competency
  • Professional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to train, mentor and influence others
  • Knowledge and experience in utilising HSEQT systems including INX, Success Factors, Chemwatch.
  • Intermediate or Advanced computer skills
  • Ability to adapt to clients requirements
  • Valid C Class unrestricted Drivers License

Should you be successful in being offered a role in Macmahons’ Surface Mining Division, you will be required to pass a medical and drug and alcohol test along with obtaining a National Police Clearance.
