Are you seeking more autonomy, the opportunity to be part of significant strategic initiatives? We’re looking for a Superintendent Hydrocarbons & Water to join our Utilities Maintenance Engineering Team.

The role is part of the Utilities Operations team and will report to Manager – Utilities Operations. It is a leadership role and will manage a team of Specialists in Hydrocarbons and Water. The primary purpose of the role;
- Manage diesel supply chain across the Pilbara - Iron Ore operations
- Manage key stakeholders across the supply chain including supplier, marine, diesel bulk terminals, diesel deliveries, mine operations, contractors, maintenance and engineering team
- Ensure quality of diesel is as per the prescribed specifications
- Primary Operations representative for the Diesel supply contract across Pilbara - Iron Ore operations.
- Operational Management of our Hamersley Iron and Robe Valley Water Licence
- Manage Interface with Mine Operations, Water Resource Evaluation (WRE) and Water balance
- Manage governance for drinking water quality including regular reporting and liaising with Department of Health
- Key stakeholder in growth and sustaining capital projects related to diesel and water
- Proactively assist in achieving decarbonisation initiatives
The asset base and commodities include –
Hydrocarbons
Diesel and Aviation fuel facilities , Bulk Oil and Lubricants facilities, Oily Water Treatment Facilities, 4 Fuel Hubs, distribution of fuel from Parker Point to the inland hubs, 23 diesel fuel code tanks and 140 fuel bullet tanks , light and heavy vehicle refuelling facilities and infrastructure.
Water and Waste Water
Bore water production, Water main pipeline conveyancing, Water storage tanks, waste water treatment plants, distribution, infrastructure supporting water balance and water quality. Our Team are the technical experts supporting Town Water and Sewer network for Paraburdoo Tom Price Dampier and Pannawonica towns and well as supply of potable water to our Mine Sites.
You’ll be working closely with our teams across asset engineering, maintenance engineering, sustaining capital, Water Resource Evaluation and Regional Utilities maintenance teams. With a core focus on drinking water quality, you’ll also be our trusted advisor for water and waste water conveyancing, storage, treatment and distribution.

To be succeed in this role you’ll need:
- Desirable
- Degree in relevant technical or logistics discipline
- Previous experience in managing diesel supply chain and water quality.
- Understanding of Drinking Water Quality guideline.
- Experience in liaising with statutory and regulatory bodies.
- An in depth working knowledge of Hydrocarbons and Water related assets and their operations, specifically for utilities, and distribution assets.
- Passion for strategic and team leadership with a proactive approach
- Solid business improvement focus with experience driving continuous improvement
- A current Australian driver's license.
