About the Role

We are looking for a Superintendent Mining OT Network Operations to join our inclusive and high performing Mining Systems WA Iron Ore Technology Operations team.

The Role will manage a team of professionals located in Perth with responsibility for improving systems, tools, processes and reliability of the Industrial Communication Network Services deployed across our BHP Western Australian Iron Ore Mining locations. These OT Network services deliver Digital Radio, Wireless and LTE communications supporting voice and data connectivity for mining safety and production systems. The team also manages the short-term operational Radio Frequency coverage planning required to meet mine plans.  

Reporting to the Manager Mining Systems WAIO key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead improved performance, across the disciplines of Digital Radio, LTE and Wireless Networks servicing Mining Safety and Production systems
  • Lead, manage and develop the Industrial Communications Operations team to support effective and efficient delivery of relevant Operational priorities 
  • Promote a risk-based approach to the identification, assessment and control of Network related risks 
  • Managing Service Level Agreement’s and performance of our Network Operations service providers
  • Collaborate and support other Technology Operations teams to drive reliability across all systems
  • Contribute to BHPs Industrial Communications infrastructure roadmaps and overarching strategy.

Desired Qualifications 

  • Post-Secondary STEM qualification or currently studying towards one
  • ITILv3
