About Mt Arthur Coal
New South Wales Energy Coal consists of the Mt Arthur Coal open-cut energy coal mine in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, Australia. The site produces coal for international customers in the energy sector.
About the Role
The Superintendent Infrastructure role at Mt Arthur Coal leads and coaches the infrastructure team across a broad span of control in the maintenance of plant and equipment and site infrastructure including a large light vehicle fleet, critical pumps, buildings, electrical reticulation and water systems across site. This role offers challenge and variety due to the broad range of infrastructure along with a great team to provide leadership and guidance to.
This is role will be based at Muswellbrook working Monday to Friday, offering flexible working arrangements to enjoy the stunning Hunter Valley region, and is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, supportive and inclusive team.
The work involved will use your leadership experience, contractor management knowledge and business acumen to achieve optimal maintenance and operational outcomes and cost-effective quality outcomes.
You will have a demonstrated commitment to safety and be a self-starter that has a drive for continuous improvement and ability to build effective working relationships with customers across all areas of the operation.
The role oversees the development, endorsement, approval and compliance of work schedules for the execution team who are largely trades based workforce. Experience in Work Management processes is essential (1SAP preferred).
Specifically, the role will manage and oversee delivery against performance targets and is responsible for:
- Fostering a safe working environment through field observations and verification of standards in line with maintenance protocols
- Developing and implementing performance targets for the team in alignment with organisational targets and monitors performance against metrics
- Implementing team processes to drive continuous improvement and maintenance strategies to optimise maintenance systems and performance
- Using risk management to ensure critical controls are operating as intended and builds a risk aware culture within the team
About You
- Experience in an aligned role with exposure to broad ranges of Infrastructure
- Demonstrated people leadership experience of operational teams
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaborative working relationships and influence positive business outcomes
- Ability to consolidate and analyse information, apply judgement and reach safe and cost-effective solutions swiftly
- Experience in contractor management
- Understanding of SAP as a work management system
- Continuous improvement mind-set and mature change management skillset
- Deep foundational leadership which supports team growth and development
- Strong communication skills and a track record of achieving results
