Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join a leading organisation in the field of employee health, injury management, and rehabilitation. If you are passionate about developing and implementing innovative strategies to enhance employee well-being while minimising costs, then this role is perfect for you!

You will be responsible for overseeing injury management and return-to-work for our Contract Mining division. This includes developing streamlined work processes, coordinating with medical professionals, internal HSE and HR resources, and leaders to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make a Real Impact: As the Superintendent of Health and Injury Management, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing practical, efficient, and effective systems and processes to support employee health and injury management. Your work will directly contribute to minimising loss of productivity, reducing workers' compensation costs, and potentially preventing common law claims.
  • Be a Strategic Leader: In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the charge in developing and reviewing organisational workplace health and injury management strategies. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding the business towards creating a safer and healthier work environment. By providing high-level advice and evidence-based recommendations, you will be driving improved performance within the organisation.
  • Drive Strategic Initiatives: Your role will involve preparing reports, submissions, and correspondence related to health and injury management matters for various stakeholders, including insurers, medical practitioners, allied health professionals, legal professionals, and leaders. By effectively communicating and collaborating with these key partners, you will drive strategic initiatives that support the overall well-being of employees.
  • Mentor and Grow: As the leader of the Injury Management team, you will have the chance to inspire and support your colleagues. By providing guidance and professional development opportunities, you will help them reach their full potential and excel in their roles.   • Ensure Compliance and Support: In this role, you will liaise with key internal and external stakeholders for complex case management, ensuring that all actions taken align with relevant legislation, industry standards, and company policies. Your attention to detail and commitment to compliance will be essential in protecting the organization and its employees.
  • Track Progress and Provide Support: Maintaining accurate records of injury cases and preparing reports on activities and outcomes will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will coach leaders and functional teams on supporting injured employees effectively, providing guidance and support throughout the process.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proven experience in injury management and return-to-work coordination. (case management, insurance, health, retail/relationship management environment)
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to effectively engage, collaborate, influence and innovate with a broad range of stakeholders, in the resources industry.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
