About the Role
Reporting through to the Manager Maintenance, this key role will lead a diverse multi-skilled workforce, responsible for the maintenance execution of all underground fixed plant equipment across the Carrapateena Underground Operation, inclusive of strategy-based maintenance, asset integrity scopes and major shutdowns.
You will be an experienced, dynamic and collaborative leader who has a demonstrated commitment to safety with a well-developed interpersonal skill set necessary to be an effective and supportive leader ensuring successful outcomes for your team, our contracting partners and your customer. This position is based at Carrapateena, operating on a 5/2 4/3 FIFO roster pattern arrangement (with flexibility)
In this role our successful candidate will:
- Oversee and coordinate the underground maintenance portfolio
- Manage and monitor planned and actual costs including all monthly accruals and reconciliation of the department spend
- Maintain, demonstrate and promote an overriding commitment to health, safety and a culture that is inclusive for everyone.
- Coach, review and develop multi skilled trades personnel to ensure their skills are optimised to their full potential
- Lead, engage and empower our people to increase their capabilities
- Oversee the execution of planned and scheduled maintenance, integrity scopes, shutdown scopes along with breakdown work
- Develop and lead Asset Integrity Inspection activities, and execute ongoing integrity remediation pipeline
- Develop collaborative and consultative working relationships with key stakeholders across the business to identify issues and opportunities to improve efficiency and simplify the way we do business
- Liaise with Mining, Processing, Engineering and Commercial teams for planning and execution purposes
- Meet and maintain site requirements for Contractor Management activities
About You
- Demonstrated leadership in senior capacity across direct and contractor teams
- Experience in maintenance execution with a sound understanding of maintenance and capital systems and processes will be highly advantageous
- Experience in an operational mining environment is desirable
- Be able to identify and champion opportunities to improve the performance of safety, people, processes and systems
- Improve performance and availability through quality maintenance practices
- Ability building cross-functional relationships with other areas to support the delivery of maintenance and capital scopes
- Confident in using maintenance work management systems including SAP based programs
- Experience with Contractor Management Systems highly regarded
- Able to provide technical and operational expertise in heavy industry context – high risk and complex project environments
- Foster a positive and productive working relationship and culture between the team members and with other departments
- Possess project, time management and prioritisation skills, with high attention to detail, excellent problem solving and communication skills
- Well-developed, proactive stakeholder collaboration and contractor management
- Demonstrate capability to lead and mentor team members for safe and effective outcomes applying BHP systems of work
