We are looking for an experienced Superintendent MP&E (Maintenance, Planning and Engineering) to join our team based at Paraburdoo. Reporting to the Regional Manager, Maintenance Planning and Engineering, this vital leadership role will be responsible for a large team of Planners and Schedulers, Electrical Control and Reliability Engineers across Fixed Plant, Heavy Mobile Equipment, Site Services and Dewatering. 

Key accountabilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting and developing a multi-disciplined team in the delivery of reliability engineering, planning and scheduling processes
  • Providing expert technical advice to operations and maintenance teams
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to allow for productive interfaces with the site maintenance teams
  • Lead and support investigations into asset failures and performance, including root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Utilise performance data to identify high value opportunities to supports improvements in reliability, productivity, and cost
  • Demonstrated ability to meet targets whilst bringing the team on a journey of continuous improvement
  • Proficient in utilising SAP
  • Accountable for the preparation of the annual area maintenance budgets and continuously reviewing conformance to budget
  • Monitor and analyse the performance of our assets and analyse primary/ secondary maintenance tasks to improve asset reliability and cost 
  • Support the development of integrated schedules, associated deliverables, monitors status against schedule and updates as appropriate

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Be proactive with a commitment in driving a safe and inclusive team culture
  • Have leadership experience and confidence in leading, developing and coaching multi-disciplined teams
  • Practical experience and an understanding of asset management and reliability-based principles and processes such as RCA, FMECA and tactics development.
  • A working knowledge of statutory, Australian and Rio Tinto engineering standards will be advantageous
  • Capable of working in challenging environments whilst maintaining effective time management skills
  • Well-developed analytical and technical competencies, excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees across all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to manage a team independently with a capacity to build collaborative relationships
  • Proven relevant experience within the mining industry in both heavy mobile equipment and fixed plant environments
  • Strong working knowledge of work management, shut management and asset health processes
  • Experience with zero based budgeting and data analytics would be advantageous
  • Hold a current ‘C’ class driver’s license
