About the role

We are looking for a Superintendent Maintenance Shutdown to lead, coach and develop the members of the Shutdown Maintenance team.

This role will be responsible for the safe execution of shutdown maintenance at our Dampier operation. Your role will ensure the team is set-up for success against business priorities and the seamless safe delivery of shutdown maintenance activities.

Reporting to the Manager Maintenance you will be supported in your efforts in continually seeking to improve our processes, cost efficiency and productive capability across the operation. You will be:

  • Leading the focus on sustaining and improving a strong safety culture throughout the site
  • Leading and coaching a multi-disciplined team of professionals and shutdown maintenance staff consisting of frontline supervisors and trades roles
  • Leading the shutdown maintenance team to identify and manage asset risk, ensuring the right work is completed to maintain asset integrity and performance.
  • Ensuring that the shutdown maintenance execution function is delivered in line with Rio Tinto best practice to maximise productivity and equipment reliability
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the team in the implementation of improvement initiatives and technical advances
  • Developing, monitoring and controlling approved budget to deliver cost effective services that meet the business needs while ensuring compliance with the relevant statutory legislative provisions

Where you’ll be working

Our port facilities consist of 2 shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading.
