Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent - Fixed Plant
Work Location: Fortescue's Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of Nyiyaparli people
Roster: 8/6 - FIFO ex Perth
The Superintendent will impact strategic effectiveness by ensuring that they are across the business & operational strategy in order to ensure that plant mechanical maintenance activities are planned and managed in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner, with a sound basis in asset management principles.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to supervisors in their development an execution of fixed plant maintenance objectives
- Develop a team culture of continuous improvement aligned with Fortescue's values
- Responsibility for the weekly and day to day planning, scheduling, and coordination of plant mechanical maintenance activities to
- Collaborate with other depatments to ensure the plant remains reliable, with an ongoing focus on consistent improvement.
- Develop and implement a skill matrix for the team and improve the skills of the team to ensure that we meet the expectations.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Demonstrated previous experience in leadership roles
- Demonstrated track record of problem-solving and solution implementation in a multi-discipline team-based environment
- Experience in a similar role gained in maintaining the fixed plant in a field situation preferably in iron ore
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Previous shutdown and maintenance/process plant experience in a mining environment
- Strong understanding of both production and maintenance strategies for large scale processing plant
- Trade background and/or Engineering qualification
