About the Role
Prominent Hill produces one of the highest grades of copper concentrate in the world. Located 650 kilometres north-west of Adelaide, South Australia, Prominent Hill is part of our Minerals Australia operation. It's made up of underground and surface operations, and is located on the traditional lands of the Antakirinja Matu-Yankunytjatjara people. All incidents are preventable and everyone has a role to play. We currently have a role available for a Superintendent Mine Hoist to join our Maintenance and Engineering department. In this role you will be responsible for executing planned and unplanned maintenance activities within an operational mining environment. Your work will contribute to optimal production, equipment performance and availability, as well as improving reliability and ensuring that we are well placed for future growth within the mine.
The Superintendent Mine Hoist leads their team in the maintenance and operation of a range of Hoisting plant, equipment and associated ore infrastructure, overseeing compliance to the weekly work schedule, work instructions and defined processes to achieve optimal maintenance and operational outcomes.
Please note this position is based at Prominent Hill on a FIFO from Adelaide basis, operating on a 5/2-4/3 roster arrangement.
In this role you will:
- Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team
- Lead, coach and mentor team members to ensure delivery against performance targets
- Monitor expectations, understanding and application of Maintenance processes within the team to support compliance with local requirements and Group Level Documents (GLD)
- Build relationships through collaboration with other maintenance and production superintendents
- Manage the implementation of work procedures and instructions
- Guide Supervisors in weekly planning and scheduling meetings to ensure alignment and commitment of resources to the work schedule
- Contribute to the development of the Maintenance strategy and budget (foreseeable & unforeseeable corrective) by reviewing the existing Work Plans Task Lists and Corrective Task Lists, in collaboration with Maintenance Analysis & Improvement and Maintenance Centre of Excellence
- Oversee the allocation of training resources for the team to effectively operate
- Monitor the delivery of training in accordance with the Maintenance training curriculum
- As a Risk Control Owner, be responsible to ensure that critical controls are managed so that material risks are maintained in a well-controlled state
About You
- Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant technical field combined with leadership or management qualifications will be advantageous
- Hoisting maintenance experience within an operational mining environment or similar
- Experience and/or certification in Functional Safety Management
- Confidence in managing risks associated with industrial working environments
- Experience in a similar role, with a focus on engaging and leading a team
- Ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels and disciplines, with well-developed prioritisation skills
