About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Technical Services, this an ideal opportunity for a Superintendent Mine Planning to lead and develop technical engineering disciplines within the team. The Mount Keith operation consists of three open pits, and with ramp up underway, an expanding fleet. The role involves leading this ramp up from a technical standpoint, establishing and embedding best practice methods both in engineering and operations.

You will lead the team to operate in a climate of continuous improvement, being accountable and ensuring that all work is aligned with business-critical success factors. Core to your role is ensuring that all your team members feel safe, valued and connected to our purpose.
This role is fly-in fly-out from Perth to Mount Keith on an 5/3/4/2 roster, with flexibility available.
As the Superintendent Mine Planning, you will:
- Identify and frame the risks and opportunities associated with the operation, managing change, and communicating the operating strategy without compromising on quality and sustainability, whilst maximising productivity
- Understand critical path bottlenecks, working across teams to manage and problem solve
- Lead, coach and foster a high performing culture within the team
- Continuously improve internal processes within the direct team and wider technical services
- Formulate feasible production forecasts and schedules that account for safety, environmental and cultural heritage considerations, as well as volume and cost requirements
About You
To be successful in this role you will be degree qualified Mining Engineer (or related discipline) with excellent technical knowledge combined with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Complementing your technical expertise, you will be team oriented, and relationship focused, with a demonstrated track record in achieving results.
Your passion for risk management and continuous improvement will be evident in how you engage and influence others to drive effective business outcomes. Your demonstrated ability to nurture cohesive, high performing teams who search for ways to innovate and add value will further contribute to your success in this role.
In addition to demonstrated ability to consolidate and analyse information, you will have the skills and knowledge to provide critical thinking and solution-focused attitude. This role is well suited for those looking to bring their mine planning skills.
- Experience leading teams of technical professionals
- Passionate about active coaching and mentoring of the team, facilitating, and enabling their personal and professional development
- Strong focus on continuous improvement in the mine planning and operational space
- Experience in mine design and mine planning is essential
- Knowledge of CAD and Scheduling software packages is highly regarded
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills are required to influence stakeholders across multiple organisational levels in the delivery of positive business outcomes.
