About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Mine Production Underground, this is a diverse role where you are accountable for the largest underground load and haul fleet in Australia in this unique mining operation at Olympic Dam.
This is an exciting and expanding department that also focuses on the development and training of new-to-industry teams.
This is an Olympic Dam based role offered on an 8/6 roster FIFO ex-Adelaide or Residential.
In this role you will:
- Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team
- Lead and develop a team of technical and operational mining professionals
- Identify, build and develop team capability through ongoing and regular coaching and development
- Build effective relationships across multiple mine departments to support the delivery of improved production
- Encourage and promote continuous improvement by constantly looking for opportunities to improve work practices and procedures
- Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to the team
About You
- Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’
- Tertiary qualifications (Mining Engineer or similar) or significant operational experience
- Demonstrated operations experience in an underground mine site
- Experience with long hole open stoping production and fleets in an operation
