Superintendent Mine Services – Utilities

Work Location: Eliwana. Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.

Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth

Reporting to the Maintenance Services Manager, this position offers a key leadership role, responsible for leading and mentoring a multi-disciplined team who operate and maintain dewatering, power generation and power infrastructure. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Through visible safety leadership, improve the safety culture and performance of the department and related key contracting partners
  • Maintain a culture where people feel they are engaged, the Fortescue values are lived, and they can make a difference
  • Support of water services, power generation and HV network across the Eliwana operations 
  • Develop, manage and improve the capex and opex budgets for the department by ensuring long term asset management strategies and plans are available, reviewed and followed
  • Ensure a culture of continued improvement around reliability, maintenance, safety and cost 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Significant experience at a Superintendent or equivalent level working with multi-disciplined work teams across different technical streams
  • Excellent people management skills with a proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple complex issues
  • Strong financial understanding of budget preparation, cost control & reporting
  • Ability to work within tight time frames with excellent time management and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Mines Regulations and Act and Occupational, Health and Safety legislation and other relevant legislation and regulations
