About the role
We are seeking a motivated Superintendent - Mine Water Management to join our Mine Operations team at Hope Downs 4. You’ll be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours, practices and processes, whilst providing leadership, development and support to your team, with the aim of driving consistent performance and innovation in relation to safety, cost and production.
Reporting to the Manager - Mining, the role will require you to:
• Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities• Communicate on daily basis with the Manager to ascertain short and long term priorities of the mine plan • Provide daily operational coordination and oversee daily mine water management activities • Optimise labour skillsets for the fleet, on a shift-by-shift basis • Provide leadership in safely executing MWM activities at a site level, ensuring team performance is in line with short term objectives • Liaise with Supervisors, Engineer and Advisor to ensure quality and compliance is being maintained • Maintain active Boundary Level Agreements for related infrastructure and stakeholder interfaces • As the site E11 and Water Governance Champion – the development and adherence to water-related MoS routines • Optimise and forward planning for labour and resources for the Annual and 5-year plan • Work with key stakeholders to ensure that surface water and groundwater strategies are executed • Manage dewatering, withdrawal, and discharges to preserve water levels and flows needed to prevent harm to the environment, and/or community health and livelihoods outside of the operational footprint • Executes risk and assurance responsibilities defined in the Rio Tinto Risk Management standard
