Superintendent - Mining

We're on the lookout for a dedicated Mining Superintendent to join our Dawson operations on a 5:2 roster. Your primary role will be to assist the Project Manager in coordinating with Production Supervisors and managing resources efficiently. This position emphasizes safety, leadership, efficient plant service, and cost-effective solutions.

Dawson is situated at the Bowen Basin's southern tip in Central Queensland, is close to Moura and is roughly an hour from Biloela and two hours from both Rockhampton and Gladstone. It stands proud as one of Australia's longest-operating coal mines.

Key Responsibilities

•  Collaborate with our on-site planning and engineering team to consistently hit production targets.
•  Strategically plan, coordinate, and allocate both human and equipment resources to meet monthly production goals.
• Guide and mentor Production Supervisors to enhance performance.
•  Engage actively with key stakeholders, especially our senior leadership team.
• Uphold the highest standards for mine safety, ensuring teams consistently meet production and cost targets.
• Partner with Mine Geology to oversee grade control and ore definition requirements.
•  Instill a safety-centric workplace culture that fosters a zero-harm environment.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

•  Certificate IV in Frontline Leadership or its equivalent (preferred).
• RIIRIS301D: Apply Risk Management Processes.
• RIIWHS301D: Conduct Safety and Health Investigations.
• RIICOM301D: Communicate Information.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of leadership experience in mining operations.
• In-depth understanding and application of the QLD Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations.
• Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Standard 11 induction, Coal Board Medical clearance, Drug & Alcohol Screen results, and a manual Driver's License.
