Our Opportunity

Work Location: Cloudbreak – Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra.

Cloudbreak is seeking an experienced Superintendent Mining to lead mining activities across load and haul, drill and blast, and production support.

Reporting to the Manager Mining, you will lead a large operational team to safely deliver the mine plan while building capability and a positive, high-performing culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership across mining operations, driving safety, performance and accountability.
• Lead, coach and develop Mining Supervisors and operational teams, including capability and succession planning.
• Translate mine plans into clear operational priorities and deliver against safety, production, utilisation and cost targets.
• Undertake statutory Quarry Manager duties and manage operational and critical risks.
• Work closely with Maintenance, Planning, Engineering and Technical Services to optimise mine performance.
• Drive productivity, cost and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage contractor performance and support the introduction of new equipment, technology and operating practices.
• Build an engaged and accountable workforce through strong leadership and communication.

Qualifications and Experience

• WA Quarry Manager's Certificate of Competency.
• Significant senior leadership experience in large-scale open pit mining.
• Strong knowledge of load and haul, drill and blast and production processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop large operational teams.
• Proven delivery of safe, reliable production and cost outcomes.
• Strong understanding of operational risk and statutory mining obligations.
• Strong commercial, planning, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant tertiary or mining qualification is desirable.
