Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Who we’re looking for  

Reporting to the Manager – Integrated Planning, the Superintendent Mining Engineering will be responsible for process, people and production of the required mining engineering systems, and outputs for the safe production of Cadia’s operating mines and surface operations.

The Superintendent will promote safety awareness and take ownership of mining engineering processes and standards.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and communicating constraints and opportunities to unlock site value.
  • Strategic contributions to Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Budget Forecasts
  • Ensuring alignment between Newcrest’s business direction and operational performance
  • Ensure process safety – Mitigation of major hazards across planning processes.
  • Coaching and mentoring of mining engineers to ensure all team deliverables are met.

The ideal candidate will also be a strong people leader that will coach and mentor mining engineers to ensure all team deliverables are met. In addition, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

You will also possess the following: 

  • Qualified Mining Engineer with significant experience in an operational environment.
  • Relevant experience supervising technical staff in designing and scheduling.
  • Previous experience in large scale underground mining operations – Highly desirable.
