Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Who we’re looking for
Reporting to the Principal Engineer – Mining Projects, the Superintendent Mining Engineering will be responsible for process, people and production of the required mining engineering systems, and outputs for the safe execution of the new panel cave projects, PC2-3 and PC1-2.
In this fast-paced role the Superintendent will be able to think dynamically to move the team & business objectives forward, in addition to promoting safety awareness and taking ownership of mining engineering processes and standards.
Other responsibilities include:
- Identify and communicate constraints and opportunities to unlock project value.
- Complete PC2-3 and PC1-2 Scope change submissions
- Strategic contributions to weekly, rolling monthly plans, execution and control schedules.
- Assist in identifying, reporting, and making recommendations on Critical paths, bottlenecks, and key milestones.
The ideal candidate will also be a highly adaptable, strong people leader that will coach and mentor mining engineers to ensure all team deliverables are met. In addition, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
You will also possess the following:
- Qualified Mining Engineer with significant experience in an operational environment.
- Relevant experience supervising technical staff in designing and scheduling.
- Previous experience in large scale underground mining operations particularly caving – Highly desirable.
