About the role
We are looking for a Superintendent Operational Readiness – Mining to join the Brockman Operational Readiness team.
Reporting to the Manager - Operational Readiness, this role will provide specialist operational readiness advice and support which includes feasibility study and execution, commissioning and handover phase to facilitate and promote successful projects.
The role contributes at a tactical level to the design of operational readiness processes, practices and tools to improve performance and facilitate the application of governance processes for leading practice across the projects within GBO, with an emphasis on all mining operation processes.
Reporting to the Manager - Operational Readiness where your key responsibilities will include:
- Creating Value through Optimizing and sustaining value with a strong commercial interest to ensure leading practices are implemented
- Working collaboratively and fostering relationships with other departments to achieve wider business objectives
- Getting results through providing advice and support through all project stages are being developed and implemented in line with Rio Projects endorsed methodology
- Able to identify opportunities for improvement across mining operations
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, able to build strong functional relationships with partners in a complex, matrix organisation
- Knowledge of project management (scoping, planning, scheduling, resource planning, and cost estimation) and project site activities and experience as member of a small to medium-sized project’s management team will be an asset.
- Understanding of organizational change management
- Exposure to risk management and business improvement methodologies.
- Well-developed people influencing, engagement and communication skills.
- Capability to write conclusive reports and create documents presenting requirements and developed plans, strategies and approaches
- Mature approach to issues and solid decision making skills
- Proven ability in safety leadership in the mining or relevant industry.
Where you will be working
Located 60km north-west of Tom Price, Brockman is wholly owned and operated by Rio Tinto. Opened in 2010, this open pit operation offers a family friendly fly in fly out roster with state-of-the-art camp facilities.
The Greater Brockman Operations consist of Brockman 2, Brockman 4, Nammuldi and Silvergrass. Driving the latest technological advancements, the open-pit mines offer an avenue for opportunity and career progression.
