About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Engineering at BMA Broadmeadow Mine, the Superintendent Modifications and Small Projects will lead a high performance team focused on the safe and effective delivery of the projects portfolio. You will focus on developing both the team and the overall capability of the Engineering function onsite while working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best outcome for the business. This role is site based in Central Queensland with the flexibility to discuss commute and residential options. You will be required to:
- Leading a culture of care through visible safety leadership and an uncompromising commitment to health, safety and the environment;
- Leading, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure opportunities are realised and supported;
- Ensuring effective project controls for Safety, Cost and Schedule are in place in order to develop, communicate and execute project work plans and allocation of resources;
- Building mutually beneficial cross functional relationships to support delivery of the portfolio and site business plan;
- Overall accountability for development and delivery of the 5 year budget, focusing on identification and prioritisation of projects which provide the greatest value to site and align with the business plan;
- Identification and delivery of improvement opportunities in terms of Safety, Culture and Productivity; and
- Effective contractor and vendor management in line with site and BHP Processes.

About You
To be successful in this role you will be an effective leader and a collaborative communicator with the ability to manage multiple business priorities simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, allowing you to influence while also enabling you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels. Results will be achieved through strong people management and long term development of individuals in your team. You will also require:
- Detailed understanding of project management and engineering principles, standards and processes.
- Tertiary qualified in Engineering or have equivalent trade and industry experience to support the technical requirements of the role.
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Strong commercial acumen including, contract management, financial assessment and investment review and justification
- Previous experience working in U/G Coal Mining industry and any SAP experience would be highly regarded.
