About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Engineering at BMA, we currently have an opportunity for a Superintendent Mods and Ops Projects to lead our projects team. This role will see you provide team leadership and functional expertise to drive world class delivery of a portfolio of Modifications and Operational projects. This position offers an exceptional development opportunity into further leadership roles. This role is based in Brisbane, Queensland with the flexibility to discuss commute and residential options. You will also:

  • Lead your team in the delivery of safe work practices that comply with the site Safety and Health Management System;
  • Ensure compliance to Engineering Standards for all newly procured plant and equipment across the operation;
  • Provide input into the site 5 year plan and the development of the 2 year budget for the site, and ensure all works are executed according to the plan;
  • Manage the Change Control process for all modifications and improvements to Infrastructure and Earthmoving equipment from Draglines and Shovels through the effective execution of projects and ensure all documents are managed in accordance with the blueprint standard;
  • Support the maintenance of the Blueprint and technical document control systems;
  • Manage costs to budget and be accountable for regular forecasting and rectifying variances; and
  • Coaching and mentoring the Projects team.

About You

To be successful in this role you will be an effective leader and a collaborative communicator with the ability to manage multiple business priorities simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, allowing you to influence while also enabling you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels. You should have a detailed understanding of project management, engineering principles, standards and processes. You will need to be tertiary qualified in Engineering or have equivalent trade and industry experience to support the technical support requirements of the role. U/G Coal Mining industry and any SAP experience will be an advantage.
