Superintendent - Operational Projects
Work Location:
Across Pilbara sites.
Fortescue’s Chichester hub is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster:
8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth. At times planned or ad-hoc rosters may be required as well as occasional night shift.
Reporting to the Area Manager (Operational Projects), our Superintendents take a lead role in ensuring that the Perth and Site Management Teams and Contractors are supported to deliver projects safely, efficiently; and to high standards that meet our end user’s expectations and requirements.
They are highly experienced construction people with an in- depth knowledge of current construction practices on mine sites and work collaboratively to build great relationships with our Stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Direct manage a multi- disciplinary team of up to 30 people on site
- Oversee the management of multiple contracting companies and projects on site
- Liaising with Area Managers, Perth Project Managers, Site Team, Contractors and Stakeholders on all relevant matters
- Attending Projects Planning, Risk Assessments and Kick off meetings
- Monitoring contractor onboarding, tracking and reviewing key deliverables, ensuring all are met before work commences
- Participation in Critical Control Monitoring, Live Infrastructure Assessments and Team based Risk Assessments for all projects
- Ensure Commissioning Plans are prepared and authorized
- Coaching and conducting Field Leaderships
- Participation in, and coaching direct reports in Risk Management Processes for Operational Projects
- Participation in incident investigations
- Ensure BMS obligations are met
- Develop and implement at least one safety initiative per quarter
- Ensure Technical Query (TQ) management is implemented and adhered to across all projects
- Ensure Non- Conformance Management (NCR) is implemented and adhered to across all projects
- Ensure Project Close out (MDR)- is completed for all projects
- Ensure Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) management is implemented and adhered to across all projects
- Ensure handovers for infrastructure are prepared for relevant stakeholder and executed after commissioning is completed
Qualifications and Experience:
- Trade or Tertiary qualifications as a minimum
- Extensive relative project or construction management experience
- Extensive experience in leading multi-disciplinary, diverse workforces
- Ability to influence in a large, dynamic business environment
