Job Responsibilities

Macmahon are the appointed Coal Mine Operator at Byerwen Mine and have a position available for an experienced Superintendent - Operations.  

As the next Superintendent - Operations your responsibilities and accountabilities will revolve around managing the short to mid-term support with the team to meet both internal and external regulatory requirements.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure pre-start meeting are held at end/beginning of each shift and toolbox meetings weekly
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, codes of practice, Macmahon and Client instructions, policies, procedures and practices
  • Ensure the management of daily time sheets and other reporting
  • Ensure manning levels and rosters are maintained
  • Manage compliance meetings
  • Manage rosters and operators to ensure production requirements are able to be achieved safely and efficiently
  • Participate in monthly cost reviews with the Mining Manager
  • Coach and mentor shift supervisors and crew members

 
About you:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in a large scale open-cut mining production environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a part of the team.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Drive a safety-first workplace culture, which promotes a zero-harm work environment
  • Current HR Class Drivers Licence
  • CBM and S11
