About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Technical Capability, the Superintendent Operation Capability Systems is a pivotal role supporting learning systems and technology solutions relied upon throughout Operations Services (OS). You will provide direct leadership to a System Support Team that delivers effective and sustainable solutions supporting business performance goals and continuous improvement. This role works closely with internal support functions and external stakeholders to generate sustainable uplift of capability within OS. 

Your background in Learning Management Systems, coupled with your success in building and leading a team, implementing changes and building a positive workplace culture, will be paramount in setting you up for success. This role will be based in Brisbane working Monday to Friday. Location may be open to negotiation with leadership.

About You

Along with your background in Learning Management Systems, you will bring experience managing multiple stakeholders, ideally within mining or heavy industry and feel comfortable communicating at a variety of levels. Your presentation skills will lead the way to both motivate and engage the team, as well as being a key representative of our values and safety when engaging with leaders and visitors.

You will also:

  • Be a motivated and supportive people leader, creating a culture of care and safety through engaging, developing and coaching your team;
  • Foster a culture that supports and promotes a diverse workforce;
  • Ideally possess a current Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment;
  • Have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline - preferred;
  • Understand and have professional experience with Vocational Education of Training (VET) legislative requirements;
  • Have a willingness to lead and implement change, as well as influence, coach and model BHP values and behaviours;
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (SuccessFactors) highly desirable;
  • Exposure to the BHP Operating System (BOS) would be advantageous.
