Our port facilities consist of three shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading. Cape Lambert is unique from our other ports with a 35Mt process plant as part of our operations.

We are looking for a Superintendent Operations CLA Cape Lambert to lead a team of operational and maintenance personnel responsible for the daily operation of fixed and mobile plant to complete the Crushing and screening, stockpile management and shipment of iron ore.
This role will be responsible to lead, coach and develop the operational teams for safe execution at our Cape Lambert CLA operation. Your role will ensure the team is set-up for success against business priorities and the seamless safe delivery of maintenance activities.
You will work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Reporting to the Manager CLA you will be supported in your efforts in continually seeking to improve our processes, cost efficiency, safety culture and asset reliability across the operation. You will be:
- Leading the focus on sustaining and improving a strong safety culture throughout the site.
- Leading and coaching a multi-disciplined team of operational staff consisting of frontline supervisors, Production Coordinators, trades and fixed /mobile plant operator roles.
- Providing safety leadership and developing team safety culture through supervisor coaching and engagement in Shift Start Meetings, Safety Interactions, Critical Risk Management and Leadership in Field
- Executing of dust and water asset strategy, support effective operational dust management.
- Supporting team involvement in defect elimination process and the execution of projects to improve the performance of assets.
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the team in the implementation of improvement initiatives and technical advances.
- Developing, monitoring and controlling approved budget to deliver cost effective services that meet the business needs while ensuring compliance with the relevant statutory legislative provisions.

What you’ll bring
We're looking for someone who is passionate about providing authentic and positive people leadership and a natural role model at cultivating a curious mind. You will have a strong understanding of safe operations and safe behaviour fundamentals, work well under pressure while maintaining the ability to meet multiple deadlines along with demonstrated understanding of operational and maintenance system processes.
- Proactive with a strong commitment in driving a safe working culture
- Experience working in operational leadership roles and be confident in effectively leading, mentoring and coaching team members as well as interfacing with senior leaders
- A desire to build and lead engaged teams
- Understanding of the mining industry from both an operational and technical perspective
- Mining operational optimisation knowledge and/or experience
- Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve safety and operational outcomes and delivery of targets

Where you’ll be working
Our four independent shipping terminals at two locations, Cape Lambert and Dampier, are managed as a single port system. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, product stockpiling and blending, and ship loading. Employees reside in Wickham which is located 1,572 km north of Perth and 13 km north of Roebourne in the Pilbara region of Western Australia with Karratha being the closest town. Wickham is a fascinating historic town boasting pristine sandy beaches and excellent fishing spots.
