About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Exploration the purpose of this role is to design, schedule and execute operational plans for MEX Australia exploration projects. The role is accountable for the safe, effective and efficient logistical and operational delivery of each approved exploration project committed to in year 1 of the rolling 5 year plan, with forward thinking plans for the 2 year budget, and strategic direction for the 5 year plan. The role will require up to 30% time spent on-site engaging with field teams in a supporting/ coaching/ mentoring capacity.

As a trusted Leader and Subject Matter Expert, you will be expected to drive the following activities:

  • Create and foster a culture within the team that encourages individuals to speak up, engage and contribute.
  • Engage and manage our contractors though our contractor management framework.
  • Design, plan and support the execution of field work compliant to our risk management framework and technical (geoscience) project requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the Functions to ensure compliance to land access, tenure and HSE regulation.
  • Overarching cost management of approved project level budget

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess the following:

  • Exploration project management experience
  • Experience with HSE compliance
  • Experience in contractor management and equipment compliance
  • Execution of remote exploration projects including drilling, geophysics and Camp Support
  • Understanding of warehousing, Logistics, Remote supply chain and Drill core management
  • Individual exploration project scale budget control experience
