Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

Roster: 4/3 (Monday to Thursday)

The Superintendent, Planning role reports directly to the Manager, Engineering & Reliability responsible for leading and mentoring a Planning team to safely deliver world class availability and reliability to meet the present and future needs of operational requirements, and the plant maintenance execution with a continuous improvement and reliability philosophy. 

This role will cover the IB OPF and CHF operations. The primary role of the Planning Superintendent is to provide leadership to a team of Senior Planners, Long Term Maintenance Planners, and Maintenance Planners across the entire IB Operational Processing value chain. 

Fundamental accountabilities for the role are to establish sustain key Maintenance Planning Systems, Processes to support continuous improvement for the Planning cycle in a safe, cost-effective plant reliability including supporting Maintenance Execution and Work Management Process. 

Provide leadership direction, and support for the team, establishing an interdependent diverse culture. The role will also be required to identify and manage asset planning & reliability risks centered around equipment life cycle, maintenance with the strategies and tactics forming a critical part of the maintenance annual planning and budgeting process. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure Implementation of FMG Asset Management framework
  • Leading a team of Senior Planners, Long Term Maintenance Planners, Planners & Schedulers 
  • Monitor and control equipment reliability through Work Management performance metrics 
  • Establishing standardised measuring, monitoring, and reporting of plant performance on a Daily/Weekly/Monthly basis engaging all key stakeholders  
  • Develop and provide strategies and tactics to continuously improve plant reliability & performance 
  • Deliver, maintain & forecast maintenance budget based on data analysis 

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • High performing leader with demonstrated experience leading and motivating multidiscipline planners, reliability, operational teams across the mining industry.
  • Extensive Experience with Fixed Plant and Rotating Equipment Maintenance/Planning Management experience on a mine site and/or construction projects with a proven ability to coach, mentor and train team reports
  • Experience in Strategy and Planning, Engineering and Reliability
  • Project Management experience with exposure to budget preparation, cost control and reporting, and Building High Performance Teams, with previous experience in an open pit (preferably Hard Rock mining)
  • Tertiary or trade qualifications mechanical or electrical discipline or equivalent operational experience
  • Intermediate level for MS Office products including MS Excel, MS Word, Power BI, Power Automate and Power Apps and Programming, especially python, C/C++ and VBA
