About the Role

We are actively seeking the talents of a delivery focused leader to join our team in the capacity of Superintendent Planning & Scheduling. The Superintendent Planning & Asset Health leads a team that delivers optimised maintenance schedules enabling safe execution in accordance with the maintenance strategy, asset health, operational plan and budget to ensure downtime, waste and cost are minimised and resource utilisation maximised.

Reporting to the Manager Planning & Asset Health - Coal, this is a critical role with a key focus on developing and leading a high-performance team and integrating closely with Operations and business functions to ensure the ongoing safe & efficient maintenance and operation of our plant and equipment.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced Professional to draw upon both their maintenance and leadership capabilities, nurture collaborative business partnerships and drive key business outcomes.

In this challenging and highly visible leadership role, you will:  

  • Ensure conformance with the BHP Billiton Charter, the BHP Billiton Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
  • Effectively lead and develop a team of diverse maintenance professionals, facilitating a strong culture of teamwork, trust & high performance, and where respectful behaviours are demonstrated at all times.
  • Develop and maintain trusting and collaborative relationships with Operational and Functional stakeholders to foster strong communication, regular feedback and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance to the BHP Planning & Scheduling process and frameworks including performance reporting on key metrics.
  • Drive optimisation of Planning & Scheduling through the Work Management process to reduce waste and increase value adding work.
  • Lead the identification and management of schedule risks, providing ongoing communications to relevant stakeholders and solution identification including prioritisation to best support Operational requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and technology.
  • Challenge thinking and act as a true conduit for change and innovation within a complex business environment.
  • Foster a safe to speak up environment to team members to work effectively with customers to achieve the best business outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role you will be a collaborative and impactful leader with outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You are team oriented, and results focused with a demonstrated track record in coaching and influencing others to drive effective business outcomes.

In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:  

  • Tertiary or trade qualifications in relevant maintenance field(s) or engineering discipline(s), or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in Asset Management, maintenance execution, maintenance planning & reliability or production processes, with strong technical aptitude and maintenance process expertise.
  • Experience in leading a high performing, diverse team to deliver exceptional safety and operational results.
  • Strong leadership, communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills with an ability to influence to achieve optimal outcomes for the business within a matrix organisation.
  • Excellent critical and strategic thinking, situation analysis, decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and striving for excellence with an outward mindset.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering successful outcomes within a complex environment.
  • Demonstrated success influencing and managing strategic change initiatives.
  • A ‘relationship’ leader with the ability to build open and transparent business partnerships with multiple stakeholders.
  • The ability to influence with credibility.

Location and Roster

This role is Brisbane base, and you will be working on Monday-Friday roster. The role requires site travel. Flexible work arrangement is also offered.
