About the role

We are looking for a Superintendent Business Planning & Improvement to help deliver operational excellence through integrated business planning, governance and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Manger Safety & Performance, you will lead the Business Planning & Improvement team and provide leadership across business planning, operational performance, governance and improvement initiatives.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Manager Safety & Performance, leading a diverse and highly skilled team and supporting Greater Nammuldi Operations, you will:

• Lead and develop the Business Planning & Improvement team and associated business support functions.
• Drive business planning, governance and continuous improvement activities across Greater Nammuldi Operations.
• Partner with operational leaders to improve performance and deliver sustainable business outcomes.
• Lead the site's Contractor Management framework, ensuring effective governance, compliance and assurance.
• Facilitate integrated risk management processes across operational, strategic and business risks.
• Oversee capital governance and improvement portfolios to optimise investment and value delivery.
• Monitor business performance, identify opportunities and drive operational excellence.
• Provide leadership, coaching and technical support across planning, governance, risk, improvement and business support functions.

Required for Success

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in business planning, operational performance, governance, risk, or continuous improvement within mining, heavy industry or a similarly complex environment.
• Proven ability to influence and partner with leaders to deliver operational and business outcomes.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and developing capability across diverse functions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate insights into practical actions and sustainable improvements.
• Experience overseeing governance, assurance, risk management or contractor management frameworks.
• Tertiary qualifications in business, engineering or a related discipline and a current Western Australian C Class Driver's Licence. 

Helpful for Success

• Experience applying SPS, Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience working within complex operational environments and influencing diverse stakeholder groups.
• Familiarity with contractor management, risk management, governance and capital investment processes.
• Demonstrated success leading change and delivering sustainable business improvements.

Greater Nammuldi Operations is one of Rio Tinto's largest integrated mining operations in the Pilbara, encompassing the Brockman 2, Nammuldi and Silvergrass mines.
