About the role 

We are seeking a Superintendent – Fixed Plant Planning & Scheduling to lead a team of professionals supporting the sustainable, reliable, and safe operation of fixed plant assets through effective work and shutdown management. You will bring strong technical capability in asset management, together with excellent partnering and leadership skills. 

Reporting to the Maintenance Planning & Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading, coaching, and developing the FXP Planning & Scheduling team

  • Supporting delivery of asset performance through effective work and shutdown management processes

  • Supporting delivery of asset management process conformance

  • Ensuring cost-efficient planning, scheduling, and resource utilisation

  • Managing ZBB, Capex, and Opex budgets and forecasting

  • Collaborating closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties

  • Maintaining Asset Management and Strategic Asset Management Improvement Plans

  • Managing risk, through programs including Risk and Assurance Forum (RaAF), Asset Integrity Assessment (AIA), and Critical Risk Assessment (CRA)

  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating, and implementing improvement opportunities utilising Rio Tinto best practices 

What you’ll bringTo be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A strong background in safety and people leadership roles

  • Respect for others and an all-inclusive mindset

  • Demonstrated capability in coaching, leading change, and effective decision-making

  • Strong time and team performance management skills

  • Ability to collaboratively enable effectiveness to safely optimise productivity, build organisational excellence, capability, and improvement

  • A strong background in work management and shutdown management

  • Understanding of financial management principles

  • Applied systems knowledge (e.g., SAP, Prometheus, Enablon, and others)

  • Current C Class Driver's Licence (manual)

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
