We are currently seeking a Superintendent Planning & Workshop who will provide leadership for Dampier’s fixed plant shutdown planning team and site-based workshop who execute equipment maintenance and repairs for fixed plant parts and components.
This unique role conducts all the asset planning activities for fixed plant to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations whilst executing workshop-based maintenance on plant critical parts and rotable components.
Reporting to the Manager Maintenance, Planning and Logistics this role is a great opportunity for an experienced Superintendent to join the team where you will be responsible for:
- Providing strong safety leadership to develop and grow the safety culture of a large operational team
- Direct management of Maintenance Planners and Schedulers, Workshop Supervisors and trades, Workshop Advisor and Statutory Mechanical Supervisor
- Driving the implementation of sound planning and scheduling processes for planned maintenance shutdown cycles and maintenance execution
- Ensure maintenance team activities are conducted safely and aligned with the overall business objectives
- Providing technical direction and guidance for the maintenance team
- Applying fundamental asset management systems and processes in a demanding 24/7 maintenance context
- Promoting the standardisation and implementation of Maintenance KPI’s that support continuous improvement of the maintenance function and plant performance
- Providing inputs, direction, and monitoring of maintenance budget expenditure
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives that ensure high quality work completed at the lowest possible cost
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Strong leadership skills with experience and confidence in leading, developing and coaching team members creating a driven and motivated team
- Be proactive with a commitment to driving a safe and inclusive team culture
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience navigating internal and external relationships
- Demonstrated partnership and collaborative contractor management experiences
- Intermediate to advanced experience in work management for asset management and SAP systems
- A clear understanding of preventative maintenance, planning, strong communication skills and a flexible ‘can do’ approach to work
- Experience in maintenance task planning and execution
- A flexible and resilient attitude moving seamlessly with dynamic business demands
- Be process driven with a learning mindset and curiosity

Where you’ll be working
Our port facilities consist of four shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading.
