About the role

We are seeking a motivated and engaging Superintendent Fixed Plant Maintenance to lead a highly capable team and deliver cost-effective asset performance, through execution of asset health assessment, maintenance execution, and shut down coordination.

The scope of work is as challenging as it is diverse. Gudai-Darri are currently at commissioning stage of their brand new plant. This is an excellent opportunity and a great time to join the team. Your focus will include but not be limited to:

  • Leading the focus on sustaining and improving a strong safety culture throughout the site
  • Leading, developing and coaching a multi-disciplined team of professionals and maintenance staff
  • Identifying and managing asset risk, ensuring the right work is completed to maintain operational targets
  • Ensuring that the fixed plant maintenance function is delivered in line with Rio Tinto best practice to maximise productivity and equipment reliability
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the team in the implementation of improvement initiatives and technical advances
  • Developing and controlling approved budget to deliver cost effective services that meet the business needs while ensuring compliance with the relevant statutory legislative provision

About you

To be successful in this role, you will;

  • Be committed to ensuring the safety of yourself and your team
  • Be Driven to create a respectful, inclusive and diverse work environment
  • Demonstrated experience with a reliability centred maintenance approach
  • Have maintenance execution experience across either Fixed Plant (Wet & Dry plants) or MEM
  • Be a passionate people leader, able to develop, motivate, and mentor team members
  • Have excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to lead through influence
  • Have highly developed problem-solving abilities, in complex delivery environments
  • Be flexible and agile, ready to change tack and adjust priorities in response to operational needs

It will also be beneficial if you have: 

  • Experience with continuous improvement and change management processes
  • Experience managing technical, diverse and outcomes-focussed teams
  • Prior commission experience
  • Experience working in dynamic, large-scale supply chain environments
