About the role

We are seeking a motivated and engaging Superintendent Fixed Plant Maintenance to lead a highly capable team and deliver safe, cost-effective asset performance, through execution of planned maintenance and shut down coordination. In this role you will be accountable for the high-grade processing assets, stockyard (including balanced machines) and train load out facilities at Tom Price.

Working on a family-friendly, 5/2/4/3 residential roster, you will have a supportive leader who will not only set you up for success in this role but will continue to work with you to develop your career aspirations. Reporting to the Fixed Plant Manager you will,

  • Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices
  • Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Fixed Plant Maintenance personnel
  • Organise, prepare and execute major, total plant shutdowns
  • Manage Fixed Plant Maintenance activities to maximise productivity while minimising cost and environmental impact
  • Provide quality control on maintenance process, including reviewing the 5 whys process completed by direct reports
  • Work closely with the planning and scheduling teams to ensure effective maintenance
  • Ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely, according to plan and cost effectively
  • Manage a budget and ensure capital and operating funds are allocated correctly

within Plant Maintenance and promote a high level of cost awareness

  • Demonstrate understanding of budget preparation, variance analysis, cost forecasting and cost drivers.

Where you’ll be working

Tom Price is located in the central Pilbara, west of Karijini National Park and is our original Pilbara mine, currently employing residential and fly in fly out employees. It is known as one of the most attractive towns in the Pilbara with a high school, two primary schools a hospital and a high standard of recreational facilities.
