About the role 

This is a permanent full-time role on a 4:3 roster, FIFO Darwin or Cairns.  Flexible work arrangements will be considered.

You will successfully and strategically lead and manage the GEMCO Project Management/Project Service Office (PMO). You will be responsible for progressing project initiations, managing site capital portfolio, conducting schedule and budget assurance and governance processes, and reporting on the project deliveries and portfolio health.

Some of your main responsibilities will include: 

• Lead, coach, and mentor PMO team to ensure delivery against performance targets
• Support project delivery team in scheduling and cost controls
• Report on project delivery schedule and budget compliance and overall capital portfolio tracking
• Single point accountability for the project management system and the capital portfolio management at GEMCO
• Manage development of business case and front-end loading of the projects
• Deliver practical strategies for mining operations and surface infrastructure across GEMCO
• Manage document control, knowledge management, and contractor management
• Lead a contractor management team and being contractor management process owner for GEMCO

About you

You will enjoy identifying ways to support the team meet their objectives. With proven project management skills, you will possess:

• Proven experience in a similar role within heavy industry, preferably mining, oil and gas or construction
• End to end project management expertise, including knowledge of project control, cost control, scheduling, forecasting, budgeting, and data analysis
• Demonstrated ability to contribute, influence and make decisions within multi-functional teams and across all levels
• Very strong communication and consultative skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
