ABOUT GEMCO
Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position on a 4:3 roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns, or residential option on Groote Eylandt.
As the Superintendent Port Load & Haul, you will be responsible for leading safe, efficient & optimised port load and haul operations, while driving continuous improvement across processes, people and systems.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Coach and develop front line leaders to foster an inclusive & empowered culture
- Provide technical direction & governance to operational safety & risk management
- Support execution of logistics plans & identify bottlenecks in the supply chain
- Drive business improvements through process optimisation & capital project delivery
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Significant prior experience leading teams in port logistics & operations environments
- Planning & scheduling for bulk material movement, shipping & logistics execution
- Building relationships & engaging with key internal & external stakeholders
- Identifying risks, delivering operational improvements & managing contracts
- Applying advanced analytical skills with knowledge of production/logistics systems
Qualifications for this position are:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business, Logistics or equivalent experience
- Certification as Port Facility Security Officer (or ability to obtain)
- Current C Class Licence
