Who we’re looking for

Reporting into the Manager of Business Support, we are needing a Superintendent of Process Control and Technology to deliver safe, reliable and effective industrial automation systems and technology infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide leadership to the integrated IT/OT Technology team to ensure operation & maintenance of the technology infrastructure used at Telfer, Perth and satellite installations (i.e. exploration camps).
  • Provide leadership to the Control Systems Engineering team to implement and maintain the industrial automation and control systems utilised at Telfer.
  • Provide technical and statutory guidance and support to site.
  • Own Engineering Standards, Procedures and Safe Work Instructions for the IT, OT, Control Systems, Communications and Instrumentation disciplines.
  • Ensure compliance with change management procedures with bridge logs and registers kept up to date and audited regularly.
  • Ensure routine preventative maintenance, checks, audits, and patches to maintain the integrity of both hardware & software components of the process control system are completed.

To succeed in this role, you will be safety focused, self-motivated and have strong time management skills.  You will have a strong understanding in ensuring statutory systems are maintained, audited and treated according to the relevant legislation. You will be able to provide robust, cost-effective engineering solutions, compliant with site and Australian Standards and in line with industry best practice.

We are looking for a strong communicator and influencer and someone who is familiar with working in a highly collaborative environment with a strong emphasis on innovation, best practice and leadership.

You’ll have a relevant degree qualification (or highly experienced) in either electrical/electronics/Control Systems and/or Mechatronics.

 Ideally, you will also have the following;

  • Experience in providing operational leadership and safety leadership
  • Demonstrate leadership with the highest professional and ethical standards
  • Understanding of ownership and managing operational budgets
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder engagement and relationships
  • Thorough understanding of Yokogawa Centum DCS and Rockwell PLC
  • Experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment (highly desirable)
