About the Role

About IROC BHP Billiton’s Integrated Remote Operations Centre (IROC+) is a well-established state-of-the-art control operations facility encompassing our coal asset operations located across Central Queensland. This world-class control centre makes a significant contribution to ensuring our Coal operations continue to improve performance in a sustainable way by coordinating the near-term scheduling, planning and controlling of our Coal Operations from a central location Located in the BHP Queen Street Brisbane building, the IROC+ is a state-of-the-art control room which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with maximum safety and comfort for IROC+ employees in mind. About the Role We are seeking an individual experienced in Minerals Processing to join our IROC+ team in the Brisbane office, to support the operation of BHPs coal fixed plant assets, including nine coal processing plants and export terminal. Reporting to the Manager Control Execution, you will make a significant contribution to ensuring our operations continue to improve performance in a sustainable way by driving, coordinating, and supporting key continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, volume, cost and the control system functionality of the coal fixed plant assets. While this is fone from a central location, you and your team are able to work flexibly to support delivery of these key outcomes. In this role you will: 

  • Positively shape the IROC+ culture in alignment with the BHP Charter Values, working closely with your Control Execution & IROC+ Superintendent peers
  • Motivate, engage and coach the Process Engineering team towards achieving safety, inclusiveness and productivity goals
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the IROC+ Fixed Plant team, functional partners, site stakeholders including both Operations and Processing Engineering, including travelling to the operations as required
  • Deliver a high quality Process Engineering function to the business with a particular focus on continuous improvement through leveraging the BHP Operating System and principles
  • Provide technical guidance to Operations teams and support understanding of technical solutions applied to the Operational environment
  • Develop and build capacity and capability within the Process Engineering team
  • Establish positive working relationships with support functions

This is an exciting role in a dynamic environment, where you will be involved heavily in continuous improvement and technology projects.

About You

You will have a proven record of accomplishment as a front line team leader or be ready to take the step into a supervision role after significant experience in Process Engineering. You will have strong influencing skills and a drive for performance. Process Engineering experience and/or qualifications in Process Engineering or similar in a mining environment will ensure your success in this role.
