Who we are

Rio Tinto is a leading global mining and materials company. We operate in 35 countries where we produce iron ore, copper, aluminium, critical minerals, and other materials needed for the global energy transition and for people, communities, and nations to thrive.

We have been mining for 150 years and operate with knowledge built up across generations and continents. Our purpose is finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs – striving for innovation and continuous improvement to produce materials with low emissions and to the right environmental, social and governance standards. But we can’t do it on our own, so we’re focused on creating partnerships to solve problems, create win-win and meet opportunities.

Where you’ll be working

Located in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia, Yandicoogina (Yandi) is the leading site in innovation and autonomous operations. Mining commenced in 1998 and over the years has increased in output from 14Mt to 60Mt per year.

Yandi has lots to offer including a newly refurbished Dry Mess which features WA’s only Starbucks Café! In your downtime, you can enjoy our gyms, swimming pools, recreation rooms, and newly upgraded sports courts or explore the beautiful country we operate on with a gorge walk.

We also enjoy celebrating the little things at Yandi. We host many events throughout the year including food truck events, charity events, quiz nights and more!
