About Mt Arthur Coal
New South Wales Energy Coal consists of the Mt Arthur Coal open-cut energy coal mine in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, Australia. The site produces coal for international customers in the energy sector.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Production, this is a diverse role where you are accountable for a large fleet of mining equipment across the open-cut Mt Arthur Mine production group. You will oversee a large team and provide insightful and influential leadership that supports that is accountable executing load and haul production within the mine plan.
This role is based at our Mt Arthur Mine Site and will be offered on a 5/2 residential basis in Muswellbrook or the surrounding region.
In this role you will:
- Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team
- Lead and develop a team of technical and operational mining professionals
- Identify, build and develop team capability through ongoing and regular coaching and development
- Build effective relationships across multiple mine departments to support the delivery of improved production
- Encourage and promote continuous improvement by constantly looking for opportunities to improve work practices and procedures
- Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to the team
About You
- Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’
- Tertiary qualifications or significant operational experience
- Demonstrated operations experience in a mine site
- Experience with production and fleets in an operation
- Strong focus and commitment to upholding operating disciplines
- Demonstrated foundational leadership experience and engagement of teams that support high quality and engaged delivery
