About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Production, this an ideal opportunity for a Superintendent to lead and develop the Operations Services backfill and quarry deployment at Olympic Dam. The role involves the direct leadership of the production team that operates the material movement within the surface quarry and delivery of backfill material to the underground stopes. As an inclusive and effective leader, you will be charged to develop and sustain the culture and capability of the team. You will lead the team to operate in a climate of continuous improvement, being accountable and ensuring that all work is aligned with business-critical success factors. Core to your role is ensuring that all your team members feel safe, valued and connected to our purpose. With this role you have the choice of being residentially based in Roxby Downs, fly-in fly-out from Adelaide or drive-in-drive-out to Olympic Dam on an 8/6 roster. As the Superintendent Production – Operations Services at Olympic Dam you will successfully lead the team in:

Ensuring a culture of care and safe system of work to protect the health and safety of people and the environment in accordance with statutory and BHP requirements.

Ensuring an engaged, inclusive and diverse culture, where everyone is motivated to work at their full potential

Managing performance targets and plans to deliver on site production requirements

Improving productivity and disciplined application of the BHP Operating System (BOS)

Disciplined application of the Operations Services Operating Model, and its standards, processes and systems.

Build cross-functional relationships with the Operational sub-functions to support the delivery of production.
About You
It is Important to us is that you are a forward-thinking leader with a strong focus on safety, inclusion and diversity, productivity and maximising the benefit of technology. You will have prior or transferrable experience with production practices in surface drilling, blasting and load and haul in a surface mining or quarrying operation supported by relevant qualifications and/or equivalent industry experience in delivering outstanding results. Previous experience in successfully leading and mentoring multi-disciplinary diverse teams coupled with strong operational discipline is required to be successful in this role. You will also be a performance and achievement oriented professional, who is motivated by exceeding expectations and providing excellent results.
