About the Role

To safely and effectively coach and lead the Port Production team at Hay Point Coal Terminal. You will coach and lead the production team whilst working alongside the IROC+ and the Maintenance Execution teams to safely deliver the terminals production goals.

Reporting to the Port Production Manager, your duties will include:

  • Truly demonstrate safe production. Health, safety and environment issues are never to be compromised in work processes.

  • Lead the team to safely execute the week 0 production plans

  • Make key operational decisions to ensure weekly and yearly throughput goals are met

  • Escalate emerging issues within the supply chain

  • Demonstrate commitment by ensuring the department never breach procedures, practices or processes required by the site Health and Safety or Environmental management systems. Report any breaches to ensure they are investigated and appropriate remedial action is taken.

  • Identify and lead improvements in railing, shipping and stockyard planning

  • Practice health, safety and environment thinking by active participation in health, safety and environment discussion.

  • Coach and develop team members through the completion of BHP Operating Systems

  • Oversee alignment of week 0 rail, shipping and stockyard plan

  • Liaise with IROC+, Marketing and Maritime Sustainability on behalf of the Hay Point Coal terminal to ensure the delivery of business objectives.

  • Manage key contracts and ensure completion of the formal contractor management processes

  • Lead investigations for any potential safe hazards or actuals

  • Ownership and management of material risks and critical controls.

About You

  • An open "C" Class Driver's License

  • Previous experience in Bulk Material Production operations advantageous

  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency using the Microsoft office suite

  • Advanced communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Ability to lead a team effectively to reach the Departments goals and vision

  • Analyze production performance for continual improvement opportunities

  • Be experienced in analyzing complex situations and making prompt and effective decisions

  • Port production experience is preferred

  • Shipping and logistic experience is preferred but not essential.
