We are seeking a dynamic people and outcomes driven leader to join the Sustaining Capital team. Reporting directly to the Principal Mining Technology Delivery, the Superintendent Project Delivery will enable the studies, management planning and safe delivery of Mining Technology projects.Working to the capital plan, you will engage with multiple stakeholders across all levels of the business and external partners, where your communication, commercial and analytical skills will come to the fore. Your primary purpose is to guide and coach a team of project leads in the delivery of projects to scope, quality, budget, and established timelines within your portfolio.

Your daily remit will be centred around project governance and people and project leadership. Activities will include but not be limited to:

  • Supervising and developing your team to align with company values and achieve objectives
  • Overseeing the implementation of projects in accordance with the approved scope
  • Ensuring appropriate project governance is maintained across projects
  • Assessing project resourcing levels and leveraging resources to meet project timelines and cost
  • Implementing and improving project delivery methods and standards
  • Ensuring compliance with standardised project processes and tools
  • Managing vendors and their performance against contract deliverables
  • Developing and implementing an effective stakeholder engagement plan across projects
  • Monitoring, reporting across relevant project performance indicators to meet business requirements
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to drive a culture of participation and improvement

About youTo succeed in this role, you will possess:

  • Commercial and business acumen
  • Contractor Management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coach your peers through influence
  • Experience with coaching and developing teams
  • Strong communication & time management skills
  • Experience with various project management methodologies
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking and sound decision making ability
  • Knowledge of Rio Tinto systems and business practices is seen as advantageous
  • Manual C Class driver's license

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Tertiary study qualifications or trade-based engineering & technical knowledge
  • Technology or Heavy Mobile Equipment knowledge
  • Front line management or other relevant leadership development qualifications
  • Project engineering or planning experience
  • Business analyst or commercial experience
