About the role

Reporting to the Manager Engineering & PMO, you will lead and manage the IMC Project Management Office (PMO). You will be responsible for progressing project studies to well defined maturity up to the execution stage, conducting assurance and governance processes across the IMC business.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and mentor Projects and Governance team members to ensure delivery against performance targets.
  • Manage project studies and deliver practical execution strategies for underground mining operations and surface infrastructure across IMC.
  • Single point accountability for the IMC project management system and the capital portfolio management across IMC.
  • Carryout assurance on capital projects to enable effective decision making in the IMC Investment Committee.

About you

Ideally you love challenges and enjoy identifying ways to support the team meet their objectives. With proven project management skills, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, project management or relevant discipline
  • Prior experience in heavy industry, preferably underground coal
  • End to end project management skills, including knowledge in embedding cost and schedule control plans
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute, influence and make decisions within multi-functional teams and across all levels
  • Very strong communication and consultative skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively

Location

This position will be based at the Regional Operations Centre, Port Kembla Coal Terminal in Wollongong, NSW.
