About the Role
In this leadership role you will oversee a team of Supervisors, Specialists and Coordinators along with our contractor partners, to successfully deliver projects up to US$20M within Nickel West Kambalda with a focus on customer expectations, HSE, processes, standards, quality and cost. Though supportive leadership you encourage quality performance and ongoing development of your team.

This role will be based at Kambalda and can be offered on a residential or FIFO basis on a 5/2, 4/3 roster.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Contribution to the BHP Field leadership programme, safety initiatives and well-being of all others by actively understanding, identify and addressing observations throughout all aspects of the project lifecycle
- Demonstrating fit for purpose management skills utilising the small project management framework based on sound project management practices;
- Managing the assigned projects through all phases (Initiation, Identification, Selection, Definition and Execution) with focus on scope development for: trade-off study, detailed designs and execution work;
- Monitoring and governing project performance, controls and deviations;
- Exploring best fit solutions for projects iteratively across the lifecycle;
- Review of designs and/or design reviews as required;
- Manage, mentor and train execution team of internal and external service providers (EPCM team and project owners) to deliver multiple concurrent projects.
About You
- Tertiary qualified with project and programme management experience (up to $20M)
- Delivery focused, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge of design requirements and standards and scope development in a brownfield environment
- Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and WA Mines Regulations
- Engineering working knowledge in dealing with multi-discipline projects
- Well-developed projects process and financial competencies in order to effectively promote and guide project value propositions
- Demonstrated experience developing and leading a small team
- Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’
