Who we’re looking for

A permanent opportunity has arisen for a driven Superintendent - Reliability. You will lead a dedicated team in the development and application of asset reliability strategies to mitigate safety and business risk, while delivering continuous plant performance improvement across fixed plant and underground mining assets.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will work within our Major hazard, critical control framework to ensure fixed plant and underground mining assets are maintained to required standards. You will be a people leader with a long-term planning focus.

Key deliverables of this role include, but not limited to:

  • Develop, review, and refine equipment maintenance strategies to meet utilisation and rate targets within unit cost constraints.
  • Identify and continuously review critical asset integrity risks; Ensuring major maintenance strategies are up to date to reduce business risk
  • Develop and implement asset integrity risk mitigation measures for critical equipment.
  • Undertake and/or coach engineers to conduct RCA and failure analysis of equipment and process loss events; identify preventative actions.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance systems for application in maintenance and shutdown engineering support.
  • Ensuring the maintenance practices and modifications are compliant with the Mechanical Engineering Principal Control Plan (MECP).
  • Provide expert Reliability Engineering advice to Area managers and Superintendents as required.
  • Responsible for the ongoing development and continuous improvement of the site condition monitoring team (OA/VA)

You will also possess the following:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar related discipline)
  • Significant experience leading teams to deliver reliability & maintenance strategies within mining, or similar complex, large-scale heavy industrial operations
  • Strong understanding of reliability engineering and asset life planning strategies
  • Execution experience in mining / fixed plant equipment maintenance
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with asset integrity management systems
  • Exposure and knowledge of the NSW WHS (M&PS) Legislation and Australian Standards
