About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Site Infrastructure, the Superintendent Reliability leads a multi disciplinary team responsible for driving Port and Rail operational performance through defect elimination, continuous improvement, strategy and reliability fundamentals.
You will draw upon your expert leadership and influencing skills to motivate others to deliver and implement a high level of performance and efficiency.
The role will be based residentially on 5:2 roster
Key responsibilities:
- Lead reliability improvements and the elimination of defects in the end-to-end maintenance system inclusive of defects in parts, procedures, work quality and processes
- Analyse life of equipment, infrastructure to determine capability and optimisation of maintenance activities
- Perform detailed analysis of reliability data, initiate maintenance strategies and changes to mitigate emerging risks.
- Focus on identification & prioritisation of projects which provide the greatest value
- Lead and direct the work for the planning team to ensure that safe & accurate plans & schedules are in place enabling operations
- Proactive approach to finding and fixing high priority issues and finding efficient fixes to prevent reoccurrence
- Work closely with Operations teams to promote and support continuous improvement
- Develop budgets and forecasts for Infrastructure area and assist with the creation of overall department budget by reviewing the existing Work Plans and standalone Task Lists.
About You
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced Operational Leader ideally with experience in a similar capacity. You are extremely delivery focused with a demonstrated track record in mentoring and coaching others to achieve outstanding results. You possess excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective business partnerships. Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills combined with sound financial acumen will contribute to your success in this role.
You will also ideally possess the following:
- Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering degree or Reliability engineering qualification would be highly regarded;
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance or reliability maintenance programs will be beneficial;
- Strong technical understanding of, or experience with fixed plant and infrastructure;
- Knowledge of defect elimination and root cause analysis experience coupled with analytical, problem solving skills;
- Experience developing maintenance strategies and plans;
- Exposure to cost reduction strategies with financial and commercial acumen;
- Ability to prioritise and effectively manage multiple deliverables across stakeholders;
- Foundational leadership experience and engagement of teams that support high quality and engaged delivery;
- Previous experience or background within Mining or heavy industry is desirable;
- Experience with SAP will be advantageous
Location
In this residential role you will be based in the coastal town of Port Hedland, Western Australia. Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia. The 20,000-strong population enjoys well-established education services, entertainment, shopping and medical facilities.
The excellent sporting and leisure facilities include; a new aquatic centre, sports stadium and water play park. Its beaches and mangroves are home to an abundance of fish and other wildlife. Within driving distance are the spectacular Broome, Karratha and Karijini national Park. As this is a residential position you will also be provided with subsidised rental accommodation in addition to power and water subsidies.
