Who we’re looking for  

A permanent opportunity exists for a Superintendent – Risk & Assurance, to develop, audit and maintain a robust site wide Risk Management and Assurance Framework. 

The role will provide leadership and support surrounding the co-ordination and reporting of business risk, assurance, legal governance and compliance (LGC) activities whilst interfacing and collaborating with relevant group stakeholders to ensure consistency to Cadia and Newcrest standards.

Key accountabilities of this role include, but not limited to:

  • Provide analysis into keys areas of risk across the site in order to advise on insights to focus on critical risks, emerging trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Comply with Risk Assurance quality framework and contribute proactively and constructively to the groups Risk and Compliance forums to achieve alignment and identify/ share best practice opportunities.
  • Lead and develop a team who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the risk management systems.
  • Co-ordinate audits of key components of the material risk management process and framework.
  • Manage all audits on site which come from external parties or internal (off site) department reviews, including review of outcomes for factual accuracy, compliance to agreed scope.
  • Prepare and deliver the Annual Assurance plan as approved by the Manager – Health, Safety, Security and Risk.
  • Implement a document control framework to ensure that processes comply with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.

You will also possess the following:

  • Recognised qualifications in Risk Management and Quality Assurance discipline
  • Diploma of Quality Auditing / Certified Lead Auditor
  • Significant risk management experience gained in mining, or similar Heavy Industrial operations
  • Deep understanding of risk principles and risk management fundamentals, with proven experience in designing and implementing risk management strategies
  • Proven commercial acumen and excellent communications skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Safety & Risk Legislation and standards
