About the Role
As the Superintendent, you will be accountable for leading the Site Operations Centre team across multiple control centres to provide exceptional and safe delivery of services and support to the Carrapateena mine site to safely achieve production targets.
This FIFO role is based at our Carrapateena mine site (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta) and is offered on a 4/3 roster.
In this role you will:
- Manage the delivery and future direction of the Site Operations Centre to facilitate multiple control centres.
- Manage the development of new processes, training standards and procedures for the Site Operations Centre to allow for multiskilling of technicians in various control functions.
- Coordinate the development of reporting tools that help support business improvement for rapid development of underground operations, optimal equipment utilisation and mill optimisation.
- Ensure that all site control centres (mine development, mine production, fixed plant) are fully functional and delivering to plan.
- Capture and raise issues or improvement opportunities with control systems and alarm management.
- Performance management of the Site Operations Centre team in line with the company’s goals.
- Actively review and assist in managing the Site Operations Centre operating budget.
- Provide visible safety leadership and carry out regular audits, inspections and assessments across multiple departments at Carrapateena.
- Provide visible leadership in daily meetings and shift handovers.
- Collaborate with site departments and project teams in defining scope of works around operational readiness requirements from a central control room perspective.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in an aligned discipline.
- Experience in underground mining.
- Experience with control room systems and programs such as Pitram, SCADA and Delay accounting.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures within each functional area of a mine site.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team, including planning, mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
- Ability to deliver process improvement projects and foster a culture of innovation and improvement.
- Demonstrated behaviours around safety leadership.
- Exceptional communication and presentations skills and the ability to engage across a multitude of levels.
- Trustworthy with confidential information.
