Join Rio Tinto as the Superintendent Supply Chain – Brisbane, leading a high-performing team of specialists and schedulers to optimsie stockpile inventory, product grade conformance, and shipping schedules across the Pacific Operations bauxite mines.

Reporting to the Operations Centre Manager, within Rio Tinto Aluminium, you will play a critical role in ensuring supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive an integrated, system-wide approach to managing the bauxite supply chain, minimising demurrage and meeting customer quality specifications.
  • Develop and implement best-practice solutions that enable value-based trade-off decisions in response to unplanned events impacting supply.
  • Collaborate with commercial, operations, technical, and operational excellence teams to deliver continuous efficiency and value improvements.
  • Utilise advanced data and systems to optimize long term performance of stockpiles and ports.
  • Promote safety awareness and environmentally responsible work practices, ensuring compliance with Rio Tinto safety standards and legislation.
  • Influence key stakeholders to align with strategic objectives.
  • Coach and develop your team, expanding their capabilities and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Align work practices with Rio Tinto Safe Production System to achieve Best Operator status

 About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience leading multi-disciplined specialist teams
  • Knowledge and experience working in the mining sector
  • Proficiency with data driven decision making
  • Experience in managing complex and diverse stakeholder relationships
  • Passion for identifying and implementing improvement initiatives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field.

  • Experience working in dynamic, large-scale supply chain environments
  • Fostering and developing strong, collaborative working relationships
  • Commerce or operational finance experience
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant or transferrable discipline
